Kurgi (2020)
w/ Jordi Colel
Kurgi is fundamentally inspired by the landscape and creates a mimesis of the surrounding nature. While the light white structure blurs into the forest of birch trees, the tower lets the landscape speak. The wooden cabin is directly linked with the farmhouse while its branches recreate a geometrical forest. The tower is an ode to the natural landscape. Once the internal elements are understood, the visitors discover the outside surroundings, thereby getting involved with the landscape.
The metal structure acts as a protection and as an emphasis on the floating wooden elements apparently impossible to reach. The metallic platform rises from the earth and brings us to the wooden gem without ever touching it, letting us focus on the beauty and the materiality from the wood.
